NEXT ERA Super PAC has arrived in Dallas as Republican leaders, candidates, donors and political organizations gather for the Republican Party’s first-ever midterm convention, a two-day event at the American Airlines Center on September 9–10.
The gathering places Dallas at the center of the national political conversation at a consequential point in the 2026 election cycle. The Texas Tribune reports that Vice President JD Vance is scheduled to deliver a keynote address Wednesday evening, while President Donald Trump is expected to close the convention Thursday. Texas leaders and candidates are also expected on stage as Republicans focus on energizing voters ahead of November.
For NEXT ERA Super PAC, the arrival in Dallas marks the transition from preparation to presence. The Black-owned and Black-controlled political organization is using convention week to build relationships across politics, business, capital, entrepreneurship, media, entertainment, culture and community leadership.

The convention arrives as Texas draws intense national attention. The state’s U.S. Senate contest and several competitive congressional races have made the Lone Star State central to the fight over control of Congress. The Texas Tribune also reports that national Republican political spending is moving into Texas, underscoring the state’s importance in the midterm strategy.
Against that backdrop, NEXT ERA Super PAC is positioning itself as a convening platform for leaders and communities that want political participation to extend beyond speeches and election-day turnout. Founded by a Black woman in Mississippi, the organization traces its roots to the late Gussie Z. Stutts (“Ms. G.”), a lifelong Republican who championed free enterprise, economic opportunity and a wider range of conservative voices.
That legacy now moves into a live political environment. As convention delegates and guests move between the American Airlines Center, downtown hotels, restaurants and private events, NEXT ERA is seeking to create spaces where political relationships can develop into business partnerships, investment conversations, media collaborations and sustained civic engagement.
A CONVENTION BUILT AROUND POLITICS AND RELATIONSHIPS
The Republican gathering is designed less like a traditional presidential nominating convention and more like a concentrated midterm showcase.
